Foreign students of the 1st-3rd years of the Faculty of General Medicine (English medium) took part in the Olympiad.
Students were asked to prepare creative work in the form of a presentation on one of 5 topics: “Russia through the eyes of a foreign student”, “The profession that I want to dedicate my life”, “Shining to others, burns itself down: the example of great service to people”, “The soul of my Homeland”, “Foreign languages in my life.”
And according to the results of the Olympiad the winners were determined:
“The soul of my Homeland” — Ayishu Borogoy (India)
“Shining to others, burns itself down: the example of great service to people” — Kumar Bittu (India)
“Russia through the eyes of a foreign student” — Gupta Ambey (India)
The presented creative works showed that foreign students are able to reveal their chosen topic in an interesting, colorful and original way.
What is the soul of India? The 2nd year student Ayishu Borogoy from India answered this question in her own way. She thinks the soul of India is women-mothers, wives, sisters. She spoke about her mother who successfully combines work as a Deputy head of Health Department and Medical Care at community health centers and rural hospitals and household duties. Ayishu writes: “Society realized that women play a more important role in human life than in limited kitchens and in the home. So, my mother is as an excellent role model both in society and in life. Women are capable of incredible sacrifices: they often sacrifice their own health and happiness for the well-being of their loved ones silently giving everything they have to protect and support their family. In other words, women are not only the heart of my native town and the soul of my country, but also the very essence of the whole world.”
Choosing the topic “Shining to others, burns itself down” the 1st year student Kumar Bittu (India) spoke about his businessman father who is actively engaged in charitable activities helping poor people. The student gave several examples of such heroism and called on everyone to help others “especially poor people, because their blessings will help us to succeed in life. Our main goal in this life is to help other people because we succeed by helping another.”
The 1st year student Gupta Ambey (India) shared her impressions of our country: “Today, Russia is much more than just a place of training for me. Sometimes a foreign country becomes a part of your heart. This country has given me new knowledge, emotions, friends and memories. Here I learned to overcome difficulties, understand other cultures and look at the world in a new way. And maybe after many years I will forget some exams or difficult moments, but I will never forget the feelings that Russia gave me. Russia has become not just a part of my history, but a part of my soul.”
The Head of the Russian Language Department No. 2 Nina Alexandrovna Ranneva noted: “The Olympiad is held with the aim of popularizing the Russian language and increasing interest in its study, as well as enhancing the educational and scientific activities of foreign students. For international students the Russian language has become the key to opening the door of a new culture, the key to success and self-realization.”
Congratulations to the winners!
Good luck to you, friends!
