The competition has been held for 20 years and was organized by the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University.
Maxim Demin, Rector of the University welcomed 4 000 participants from 105 countries. The dictation text was specially prepared for the competition by Yuri Domansky, a renowned researcher of Chekov’s work and a professor at the Russian State University for the Humanities.
The graduate of the Preparatory Faculty on Training Foreign Citizens, a 1st-year student of the Faculty of General Medicine from Lebanon presented RostSMU under the leadership of the head of the Russian Language Department No. 1. She wrote a dictation of the B2-C1 level and became the absolute winner of the competition.
The Russian Dictation of 2026 was dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Anton Chekhov’s play “The Seagull”, one of the most popular texts in the world programme.
