III Forum of Belarus and Russian regions took place in the capital of the Republic of Belarus Minsk from 7 to 8 June 2016.

The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the President of Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Chairperson of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko and the speaker of Council of the Republic of National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich, parliamentarians of Russia and Belarus, heads of regions, enterprises and public institutions, ministries and departments of two countries have taken part in events of the Forum.

Within a forum there has taken place the meeting of the Inter-parliamentary commission of Council of the Republic of National assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on interregional cooperation. The following activities were organized: a festival of regional TV channels of both countries » The Image of time», Sports contest of the Union State for children and youth, a youth “IT youth” Forum, exhibitions, the international conferences, seminars, round tables.

9 sections devoted to the Russia-Belarus cooperation in the sphere of labor and social protection of population, cultural and humanitarian cooperation and interaction in the sphere of tourism, cooperation in the educational sphere and in the sphere of youth policy, etc. functioned at the Forum.

June 7, 2016 a Treaty on international cooperation was signed between the public budgetary educational institution of higher professional education «The Rostov State Medical University» of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the educational institution «Gomel State Medical University» within the framework of the section «Organization of medical assistance is an essential resource for maintaining the health of the nation. Interaction within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia”. The Treaty has been signed in a solemn atmosphere by: Rector of The Rostov State Medical University, MD, Professor Sergey Vladimirovich Shlyk and Rector of Gomel State Medical University, MD, Professor Anatoly Nikolaevich Lyzikov. A new cooperation agreement will strengthen the connection between the two universities in the field of medical education and will get new experience in the preparation of scientific and medical personnel.
