In celebration of its 85th anniversary the Rostov State Medical University was visited for two days by a delegation of the Medical Faculty of the Cologne University (Germany), represented by Professor Konrad Brockmeier, the Executive Dean for international relations of the Faculty, Director of the Cologne Pediatric Cardiology Uniclinic, and Sabine Awerkiew, Coordinator of the Russian-German relations in the Medical Faculty, University of Cologne, M.D., Associate Professor of the Institute of Virology of the Cologne University Clinic.

On September 8, 2015 the meeting of representatives of the German delegation with the Rector of RSMU, the Doctor of Medical Sciences Professor S. V. Shlyk took place during which the parties discussed prospects of further cooperation.

During the visit the German guests were welcomed with the Russian colleagues, got acquainted with cardiac surgery and surgery departments of RSMU clinic.

On September 9, 2015 the delegation visited the Cardiac Surgery Center of the Rostov regional clinical hospital which is clinical base of the Rostov State Medical University and Faculty of improvement of professional skill and retraining of experts. The Cardio-surgical Center Director, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, the chief cardio-surgeon of Ministry of Health of the Rostov region, M.D. Professor A.A. Dyuzhikov showed to Professor Brockmeier branches of the Center: Pediatric Cardiac Surgery No. 1, Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care No. 4, the X-ray surgical operational rooms. Konrad Broсkmеier noted high professionalism of staff of the Cardio-surgical Center of the Rostov Regional Clinical Hospital and the level of its technical equipment.

At a solemn meeting of the Academic Council of Rostov State Medical University Professor Konrad Brockmeier and Sabine Awerkiew congratulated staff of RSMU with Jubilee.
