The Department of Russian Language No. 2 of the Faculty on Training Foreign Citizens, Residents and Postgraduates held the VI Regional Scientific and Educational Student Conference “Medicine in the world literature».

A student from Bangladesh Islam Nahidul presented an interesting report about Vladimir Ivanovich Dal, a writer and creator of the Dictionary of the Living Great Russian Language.
Two reports on the life and work of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov were prepared by students Jalal Ahmad from Pakistan and Borgogoy Ayishu from India.
A 6th-year student from India Aditya Tandon prepared a presentation about the remarkable writer Veresaev V.V. whose ideas about the profession and personality of a doctor formed the basis of Russian deontology.
The audience learned about the artistic legacy of the legendary Russian cardiac surgeon Nikolai Amosov from the report an Indian student Anjum Gulistan.

A presentation about Indian-born American cancer scientist and writer Vikram Paralkar was prepared by Indian student Nitin N.
A student from Lebanon Kobrosli Hoda concluded the conference with a report on “Writers and artists about medicine with a smile”.

The head of the Department of Russian Language No. 2 N.A. Ranneva thanked the participants for their excellent preparations and noted that literature and medicine are brought together by a deep interest in the human person, because caring attitude towards a person defines a true writer and a true doctor. Acquaintance with the literary works is useful for future doctors to understand typical human reactions or emotions that are not exclusively physiological or biological, to consider individual human life, to enrich language and thinking.

The teachers of the department and the students expressed special gratitude to Tatyana Vladimirovna Kraevskaya, the director of the Museum, for the opportunity to hold the event in a solemn atmosphere among historical exhibits and books by medical writers whose fate is inextricably linked with our university.
