The Department of Russian Language No. 2 of the Faculty on Training Foreign Citizens, Residents and Postgraduates held the VI Regional Scientific and Educational Student Conference “Medicine in the world literature».
Foreign students of the 2nd -6th courses of the Faculty of General Medicine (English Medium), and Russian students from the Southern Federal University attended the conference. This year, the exhibition hall of the RostSMU Museum became the venue of the conference.
Foreign students presented reports on the life and work of medical writers who became classics of the world literature.
The head of the Department of Russian Language No. 2 N.A. Ranneva thanked the participants for their excellent preparations and noted that literature and medicine are brought together by a deep interest in the human person, because caring attitude towards a person defines a true writer and a true doctor. Acquaintance with the literary works is useful for future doctors to understand typical human reactions or emotions that are not exclusively physiological or biological, to consider individual human life, to enrich language and thinking.
The teachers of the department and the students expressed special gratitude to Tatyana Vladimirovna Kraevskaya, the director of the Museum, for the opportunity to hold the event in a solemn atmosphere among historical exhibits and books by medical writers whose fate is inextricably linked with our university.
