On the 5 July 2014 on the stage of the Rostov Academic Drama Theatre named after Maxim Gorky, the solemn ceremony of presentation of diplomas to foreign graduates of The Rostov State Medical University was held. Relatives and friends of the graduates came to Rostov-on-Don from different countries of the world to congratulate them on this remarkable event.
The Vice-Chancellor on Training Foreign Citizens and International Cooperation, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Gyuzyal Shamilevna Gafiyatullina opened this event and congratulated foreign graduates of 2014 on behalf of the University administration on this important event in their lives. In 2014 diplomas of Doctors and Pharmacists received 108 graduates of The Rostov State Medical University from 26 foreign countries. 104 graduates were trained on the faculty of General Medicine, 3 graduates – on the faculty of Stomatology and 1 graduate – on the faculty of Pharmacy. Five foreign graduates received honors degree: Nguyen Bik Van (Socialist Republic of Vietnam), Nunkoo Bridjenderr Ray (Republic of Mauritius), Baidjnat Parima (Republic of Mauritius), Boychevski Jovan (Republic of Macedonia), Malkhasyan Artem Fedorovich (The USA).
37 foreign graduates of The Rostov State Medical University received the certificate of a specialist in the field of Russian language, which allows them to teach Russian in their homeland.
Such officials as leading specialist of Ministry for General and Professional Education of the Rostov region I.B. Erokhin; deputy of Rostov-on-Don city Duma, associate Professor of the department of Internal diseases with the basics of physiotherapy №2 S.A. Zatonsky; President of the Nigerian Community in Russia (The Nigerian Community, Russia) Dr. Abayomi Anthony Samuel (Dr. Abayomi Samuel) made some words of welcome and congratulations. Teachers of the Rostov State Medical University, who taught new graduates their profession which will help them to save lives, to bring joy and hope to people in different parts of the world came to the solemn ceremony. The head of the department of Children’s diseases №3 associate Professor V.V. Karpov and the Professor of the Department of nervous diseases and neurosurgery V.V. Efremov addressed to the graduates with a touching speech.
Foreign graduates thanked the administration of The Rostov State Medical University, professors and teachers for the knowledge and skills that they gave the graduates. Many kind words were addressed to D.P. Khloponin the Dean of the Training Foreign Citizens and Post-graduates faculty and to all members of the dean’s office for their professionalism, sympathetic attitude, tenderness and help.
The graduates will always remember this memorable day. And we are sure that even working as doctors, taking up main posts in public health and heads of the clinics and hospitals on their native land, the graduates of 2014 will always remember Alma Mater – The Rostov State Medical University and will be proud of their profession.
