On June 6, students of the Preparatory Faculty on Training Foreign Citizens took part in events dedicated to the birthday of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin.
The Don Public Library hosted an intercollegiate student conference with international participation on the theme «Because my lyre was tuned to loving-kindness…», dedicated to the 220th anniversary of A.S. Pushkin. The event was organized by the Rostov State Medical University Department of Russian Language No.2, the Public Library Center for International Information Resources and the Intercollegiate Student Association «Art of the Word.»
Conference was attended by Russian and international students from Rostov universities. They made presentations on the life and work of the great poet, his role in Russian and world literature and culture.
At the conference, A.S. Pushkin’s poems were played, and a romance to his words was performed. And students from Ghana, Uganda and Afghanistan showed a scene from «The Tale of Tsar Saltan». All presentations were warmly welcomed by the guests of the conference. The Don Public Library director and chief librarians warmly thanked the organizers and participants of the conference.
At the end of the conference, students from Zimbabwe, Angola and Lebanon laid flowers at the monument to A.S.Pushkin.

In the evening, students from Afghanistan, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Indonesia, Congo, Cameroon, Madagascar took part in the “Open MIC” event held in the Don Public Library, where everyone could recite the great poet poems that they loved.
